The term "Canary" originated historically as a trade name for South African diamonds exhibiting the bright, pure yellow plumage of the canary bird. In scientific terms, it represents diamonds graded as Fancy Intense Yellow or Fancy Vivid Yellow.
The electric yellow hue is created through precision atomic doping:
1. Isolated Nitrogen Atoms (C-Centers): During CVD synthesis in our Surat vacuum reactors, individual nitrogen atoms substitute for carbon atoms within the crystal lattice as single isolated impurities (known as Type Ib nitrogen centers).
2. Blue Light Absorption: These C-centers absorb light in the blue and violet wavelengths (specifically around 480nm).
3. Pure Golden Transmission: The remaining light transmitted to the eye is intensely saturated golden yellow, creating the dazzling canary effect.
